INSTITUTION “DNIPRO HUMANITARIAN UNIVERSITY”

Dnipro Humanitarian University is a private diversified institution of higher education, which carries out innovative educational activities at various degrees of higher education, conducts fundamental and applied scientific researches, promotes the distribution of scientific knowledge and provides cultural and educational activities.

The university prepares applicants for the higher education in such specialties as; “Law”, “Psychology”, “Tourism” at the first (bachelor) and second (master) levels and in the specialty “Hotel and Catering Industry” at the first (bachelor) level.

The Mission of the University is to form a highly educated person with moral and democratic values, to train a professional, competitive specialist who is aware of the essence and social significance of his profession, respects the law and who is able to act according to the principles of justice for the sustainable and permanent development of society.

Vision of the University is that the institution of higher education is regarded as an Intellectual, educational and scientific space, integrated into the global scientific and educational community, based on the principles of virtue, professionalism, dedication, prestige, equality and gender-sensitive leadership for the development of a safe society.

Policy of the University is

1. Nonstop improving of the management system’s quality, ensuring the growth of the university’s competitiveness and sustainability on the market of educational services, the development of scientific and innovative activity and the improvement of financial indicators;
2. Improving of the applicants and students’ training programs’ quality by developing of the pre-university training procedures, making competitive entrance selection and creating a positive motivation for students to study;
3. Providing an increasing and expansion of the scope of research and innovation activities of the university as the basis for attracting additional financial resources, improving the qualifications and practical skills of the scientific and pedagogical staff and support staff of the university;
4. Improvement of the base for the educational process and highly qualified cadre’s training;
5. Improvement of the material support system and social protection of university employees.

Dnipro Humanitarian University is the legal successor of Limited Liability.

Company “Dnipropetrovsk Humanitarian University”, established according to the decision of the general meeting of the Founders (protocol of May 23, 2003 No. 1), registered by the Executive Committee of the Dnipropetrovsk City Council on June 9, 2003 (registration file № 04052092Ю0030820). Therefore, the Day of the University Establishment is determined on June 9, which is annually celebrated by the staff and students studying at the University.

The official colors of the University are blue and white.

The corporate symbol of the University and the graphic characteristic of its image is an emblem – a stylized combination of symbols of all specialties (the letter “psi” of the Greek alphabet, the symbol of justice – scales, compass), according to which specialists are trained at the University against the backdrop of the globe, which stands on the opened book with the national symbol – a viburnum branch. All symbols are covered with a master’s gown and a square academic cap which symbolize the institution’s belonging to the higher education system and its status - a university that unites teachers and students.

The University’s logo is regarded as a specially designed, stylized form of the name of the University in the original image – in a circle with a blue background, the abbreviation of the University “DHU” is written in white letters with master’s square academic cap. on the top.

At various times, the University was headed by rectors:

1. Doctor of Law Sciences, Professor Petro KHRIAPINSKYI (2003-2004);
2. Candidate of Law Sciences, Associate Professor Pavlo MINKA (2004-2013);
3. Doctor of Law Sciences, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Oleksandr NEHODCHENKO (2013-2018);
4. Candidate of Law Sciences, Associate Professor Oleksandr KYSELOV (2019-2020).

Since January 2021, the Rector of the University is Doctor of Law Sciences, Professor Oleh KYRYCHENKO.

During 2020-2021 some changes in the organizational structure of the University were made in order to optimize the structural and functional support of the University’s activity and also for the improvement of the management of the institution in the field of educational and scientific activities, international cooperation and academic mobility. In particular, we reorganized the departments of the university, updated scientific and pedagogical staff, opened the department for the scientific work organization, international relations and academic mobility.

We also created the research laboratory on topical issues of the humanitarian sciences.

Today, the activities of the University are supported by 78 employees, 56 of which are scientific-pedagogical staff and researches (14 Doctors of Science and 21 Candidates of Science, 10 of them are Professors and 15 are Associate Professors). 11 scientific-pedagogical workers (2 Doctors of Sciences and 5 Candidates of Sciences, 5 of them are Associate Professors) are involved in a parttime educational activities. 3 scientific and pedagogical-scientific workers are honored lawyers of Ukraine, one is an honored doctor of Ukraine, 3 are honored representatives of the education of Ukraine. In addition, employers and specialists in the profile of academic disciplines are constantly involved in the educational process.

The high professional skills of scientific and pedagogical staff make it possible to train highly qualified specialists – future lawyers, psychologists, specialists in the field of tourism and hotel and catering industry – corresponding.

The educational process is provided by the departments of: Law, Psychology, Tourism and Hotel and Catering industry, Social and Humanitarian disciplines, Applied linguistics.

The University implements seven educational and professional programs in four specialties which correspond to the requirements of the Higher Education Standards for the levels of higher education and specialties licensed by the University:

• educational and professional program “Law” for training specialists of the first (bachelor) degree of higher education in the specialty 081 Law in the field of knowledge 08 Law;
• educational and professional program “Law” for training specialists of the second (master) degree of higher education in the specialty 081 Law in the field of knowledge 08 Law;
• educational and professional program “Psychology” for training specialists of the first (bachelor) degree of higher education in the specialty 053 Psychology in the field of knowledge 05 Social and behavioral sciences;
• educational and professional program “Psychology” for training specialists of the second (master) degree of higher education in the specialty 053 Psychology in the field of knowledge 05 Social and behavioral sciences;
• educational and professional program “Tourism” for training specialists of the first (bachelor) degree of higher education in the specialty 242 Tourism in the field of knowledge 24 Service sector; educational and professional program “Tourism” for training specialists of the second (master) degree of higher education in the specialty 242 Tourism in the field of knowledge 24 Service sector;
• educational and professional program “Hotel and Catering Industry” training specialists of the first (bachelor) degree of higher education in the specialty 241 Hotel and Catering Industry in the field of knowledge 24 Service sector.

Over the years of the University existence, more than 4,500 graduates have been trained. Annually the total number of students is 1300-1500 people.

Applicants for higher education represent different regions of the country: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Poltava regions and Kyiv.

The scientific activity of the University is carried out in accordance to the topics of scientific research for 2021-2025 in the university, which received state registration:

1. theoretical and applied problems of the tourism and hospitality industry development in a competitive environment (state registration number 0121U109900);
2. theoretical and applied problems of law enforcement and crime prevention (state registration number 0121U109567);
3. theoretical and applied aspects of applied linguistics (state registration number 0121U109912);
4. modeling of mental processes (state registration number 0121U109965).

The university has a Council of Young Scientists, the School of Oratory “Perunitza” and student scientific clubs (“Lawyer”, “Psyche”, “Hospitality Constellation”).

Scientific and pedagogical and scientific workers, applicants for higher education actively participate in international, all-Ukrainian and regional scientific and practical forums, conferences, seminars, etc.

The University annually holds international scientific and practical conferences “Implementation of Law and order and crime prevention in Ukraine and in the world: problems and solutions”, “Actual problems of modern psychology”; All-Ukrainian Forum “Socially-Psychological and Legal Aspects of Violence Preventing in Educational Institutions”; all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences “Modern views on Applied linguistics”, “Actual issues of jurisprudence and psychology” for the applicants of higher education.

In 2004, the University, together with the National Academy of Internal Affairs and V.V. Stashis All-Ukrainian Foundation of Legal Science became a cofounder of the scientific journal “Law and Society” which is included to the list of professional publications in the legal sciences category “B”. The journal publishes articles by leading Ukrainian and foreign scientists, popularizes scientific research in law sciences.

Particular attention is paid to the constant expansion of international cooperation, study of the possibilities of using advanced foreign experience in improving educational activities. The constant exchange of experience during the international conferences, the internship of researchers and pedagogical staff, the internship of applicants for higher education abroad, participation in common projects show that the European integration processes is taking place in the university.

The University has created the necessary material and technical base for the organization and ensuring full-fledged educational process, the implementation of scientific activities, as well as favorable conditions for the employees and students of the University. For the successful development of practical skills among the applicants for higher education, the University has created a Courtroom, training laboratories “Hotel Room” and “Restaurant Hall”.

The university has a library, computer rooms and gyms, halls for cultural events for 250 and 600 seats. There are Wi-Fi zones with Internet access in the University.

The University cooperates with the leading institutions of higher education in the region on the issues of military training of applicants for higher education in the relevant departments of these institutions, as well as places of applicants in the students hostels.
